January 2008

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we, the founding members of the Patchogue Civic Association, a non-political, non-partisan organization, announce its long overdue formation. Born from conversations with members of the community, the Association’s purpose is to promote civic and social betterment and to improve the quality of life for the residents of the Incorporated Village of Patchogue.

With that goal in mind, the Association will: work with residents, business owners,  government officials, and various organizations to identify and address important issues adversely affecting the residents of the Village; communicate its activities and points of view to its members, the community-at-large and other individuals who need to take action to advance the Association’s purpose; organize and/or participate in community and educational activities designed to advance the Association’s purpose.

It takes an active and involved group of citizens to revitalize a village.  In these days of significant change, civic responsibility takes on an even more important role in the Incorporated Village of Patchogue.  When everyone is given a voice and an opportunity to work together towards common goals, a synergy of improvement is created for the good of all.

It’s not enough, it is not constructive, to complain about or walk away from problems in our village.  It is our hope that we can all join and work together to make our village a place we can be proud to call our home.
